What A Week Of Pulling Apart MDC Revealed

I spent a week looking at mydreamcompanion.com’s public surface before writing this listing. The technical fingerprints are sitting in plain view if you know where to look — and they tell you everything you need to know about whether their stack is worth cloning, and what it would cost to match without paying $2 million in funding and burning 18 months of engineering time.

Here’s what’s exposed:

• Their image generator UI caps Steps at 50, Width and Height at 1216 pixels, and exposes parentheses-weighting syntax in the prompt tooltips. Those are SDXL-native parameters. They’re not running a closed API like Replicate or DALL-E — they’re self-hosting Stable Diffusion / Pony / Flux on ComfyUI or A1111. Their costs are GPU-hours, not per-request fees.
• Their persona builder ships 47 personality traits, 44 kinks, 44 hobbies, 39 clothing presets, and 19 scenarios. I counted them in the i18n bundle shipped to the browser. It’s the deepest persona taxonomy I’ve seen in the NSFW AI companion category.
• Their character schema accepts a “Consistent Image Generation Prompt” field of up to 1,000 characters. That single field is how they deliver the “same character in every photo” tagline they hammer on the homepage.
• Hard age verification via Didit. Not a checkbox — actual KYC-style document + selfie + liveness check. Required, not optional. Compliant with UK Online Safety Act, EU DSA, and US-state level adult-content laws.

• No free trial — just a 25-coin free-tier signup bonus (a single image generation burns 30–50 coins, so the free tier runs out in 30 seconds).
• Their Terms of Service explicitly state: “Dream Companion does not offer refunds for paid subscriptions.”
• Their Terms also explicitly state: “no compensation for User Submissions.” Creators get a “Ultimate Creator Badge PRO.” They don’t get paid. There’s no revenue share.
• No pricing tier between Premium ($5.84/mo annual) and Ultimate ($24.99/mo annual). External reviewers consistently call this 4.3× gap a mistake.
• No blog, no /changelog, no /about. Their CMS has stub slots for these — they just never shipped content.
